I am from Akron, Ohio but have also lived in Bogor, Indonesia for two years and Kobe, Japan for six because of my father’s job. I graduated from Savannah College of Art and Design with a BFA in 2011. I am currently living in Atlanta, working for IHG and as a freelance artist in my spare time. I love to travel and I love to paint!
My illustrations are inspired by beauty that is found in everyday life. I love to work in both watercolors and oils because they each have their own characteristics. Watercolors have a fluidity and nature of their own which makes painting an unpredictable journey. With oils, I enjoy layering to create texture and depth. I strive to capture light in what I paint because it adds a sense of enchantment. I believe that a piece is done when it has a certain feeling; it is loose but yet defined by color and value.
Painting has a way of revitalizing me, it is an energizing experience that allows me to express myself in a manner that is lively and free. I playfully lay down color and dropping/adding more colors to give it a fluent richness. I add upon this layer by layer until I reach an impulsive and loose painting with the desired level of saturation and bold color. I enjoy drawing and painting from life, interpreting it and transforming into something of my own.
Feel free to send me a message. I am available for commissions as well as for shows. I love to hear what viewers think of my work. I look forward to hearing from you.
